Mountain biking & E-Biking
Two wheels, thousand adventures
The plateau of Pralongià is extremely popular with mountain bikers. The paths and dirt roads that connect the Alpine Hut Pralongià with Piz Sorega, Piz la Ila and Col Alto seem to be made on purpose for having fun on two wheels. All mountain lifts of the plateau are suitable for MTB transportation; moreover, bikes are transported free of charge. Once on top, you can pedal through a fascinating landscape, with a 360-degree view of the Dolomites. Bikers with some training feedback won't have any difficulty tackling the gentle ups and downs of the plateau and will be able to challenge their abilities setting off from the Alpine Hut Pralongià for the Sellaronda MTB Track Tour or following the itinerary of the legendary competition Sellaronda Bike Hero. In the meantime, those who prefer to save effort, can benefit from the modern e-bike technologies, taking advantage of the E-Bike Sharing network with sharing points in Corvara, La Villa, at Col Alto, Piz Sorega and Piz la Ila. In the Alpine Hut Pralongià you will also find a recharging station for your electric bike.
Walking and hiking
Through woods, meadows and pastures
How exciting it is to walk through woods and meadows, enjoying natural peace and silence. What a pleasure to get lost in the maze of panoramic trails in order to find the way towards yourself and towards your inner harmony.
Those who are fond of multi-day trekking in the Dolomites, hiking from one mountain hut to another, will find the Alpine Hut Pralongià on the High Route of Alta Badia and on the Dolomites High Route No. 9 (also called Transversal, because it crosses the Dolomites horizontally).
Those who prefer short and less challenging walks, will appreciate the plateau of Pralongià for the access facilitated by the summer mountain lifts of Alta Badia and for the relatively easy trails, that don't cause any particular difficulties even for a walk with a baby-stroller, offering, at the same time, fabulous views over the surrounding Dolomites. That's why Pralongià is a popular destination for hikes from Corvara, La Villa and San Cassiano. But it is also a great starting point for those who would like to proceed and for the guests of the rooms and dorms of the Alpine Hut Pralongià in Alta Badia. The most beautiful routes? Family-friendly destination
Fun for young and old
There are lots of factors that make Alta Badia a great family destination and many of them are concentrated right on the plateau between Piz Sorega, Piz la Ila and Pralongià. Easily reachable by mountain lifts from Corvara, La Villa and San Cassiano, the plateau is ideal for family leisure activities: large and easy trails, dotted with pastures, wood huts and mountain dairies, with the possibility to rent an off-road stroller or an e-bike of any size, which you can later drop off in one of the other points of the E-MTB sharing network. But the real highlight is the complex of Movimënt Parks, with slides, swings, water games, adventure trails, geocaching and lots of other entertainment. One of them – Spaghettino Movimënt Park – is located in the immediate vicinity of the Alpine Hut Pralongià. It is a curious themed trail representing life under our feet. And when you turn back to the Alpine Hut Pralongià, it's time to relax on the sunny terrace with a delicious home-made dessert or to have fun on the adjacent playground with a rabbit corner.
